About

We must be in the right place because there’s a street with our name on it!

I am a 30-something African woman from America who recently relocated to Singapore. This blog tells of my transitional process through this move, motherhood, marriage, entrepreneurship, and all of life’s journeys.  It is written as a compliment to the stories I tell through Black Girl Speaks, see http://www.blackgirlspeaks.com. This blog, however, is only written to share my story through my lens and give voice to this voyage.  Enjoy.

  1. Hello my young Sister! How very refreshing to see sisters such as yourself boldly venturing into the unknown to experience a world foreign to what you’ve known – til now. In retrospect, you charted your course early in life to be “extra”, or non-conventional; and I’m so glad you did, because what you’ve done required “moxie”! I hope to be able to keep up with your blogging. You already know that you are blessed and branded to accomplish more… Love you so much, Sis. Barbara Jefferson Ragin

    1. Thank you so much for your response. I have certainly been prepared by God, the experiences I’ve had, & the people who’ve been placed in my life like you. I appreciate your encouragement and prayers.

  2. Hello,
My name is Morgan L. and I am writing a story on black parents raising children abroad. I would like to be able to ask you a few questions via email about your experience raising your family in another country. Please let me know if this is possible. Thank you!
